THE AUCKLAND UNIVERSITY LAW STUDENTS’ SOCIETY

Enriching your Auckland Law School experience since 1971…

Since its establishment in 1971, The Auckland University Law Students’ Society has existed to enrich your law school experience. Together, we aim to make your time here as rewarding, enjoyable and memorable as possible by connecting you to your peers and promoting your growth and well-being through a range of unique events and initiatives.

Education

Education

AULSS plays an important role in ensuring that our members receive sufficient and comprehensive support in their academic endeavours. Throughout the year, AULSS hosts a number of events and educational initiatives such as seminars by past top achievers, Wellness Weeks, and Study Series. We also have an integral role in advocating on behalf of student’s educational needs to the Faculty and the wider legal community to ensure students are receiving comprehensive and dynamic legal education.

Competitions

Competitions

Legal competitions are a great way to enrich your Law School experience. Our competitions provide students with the opportunity to learn the skills you will need in practice and apply the law in a practical, dynamic and challenging environment. Winners of these competitions will go on to the New Zealand Law Students’ Association annual conference to compete against the top competitors in the country - to see who will take home the national championship for the respective competitions.

Social

Social

Socialising is an integral part of the Auckland Law School experience. AULSS runs a host of social events that are, unique for their approach, notorious for their atmosphere, and memorable for the enduring relationships and connections made. Our events for this year are bigger and better than ever (COVID19 permitting) and include BBQs, our annual Law Ball, Part II Camp, Cocktail Party, movie nights, and picnics in the park.

Media

Media

Verbatim is our yearly student publication written by Auckland Law Students, for Auckland Law Students. The magazine features updates on all the varying aspects of student life at the Auckland Law School - from the latest events and initiatives, competitions, and cutting-edge commentary from students and legal professionals. We are always looking for contributors who are ready to share their experience and commentary on the funny, pressing and important aspects of the Law School life - give us a shout if this sounds like a bit of you!
